Clipson Jones Classic – Ladies Results

It was the ladies’ time to shine at the Clipson Jones Classic, hosted by Belfry Wrestling. On Saturday, 12 girls teams traveled to Belfry with hopes of taking home the championship as they fine-tuned their preparation for the regional tournament just one month away. Below is a recap of each school’s performance, followed by a podium breakdown by weight class.

Girls Tournament Recap – By School

Ashland Blazer

Ashland Blazer was highlighted by Vivian Moyer, who captured the 132-pound championship, and Ryleigh Mahan, who finished second at 138 pounds. The Blazers also added podium finishes from Chyanne Maggard (3rd, 120), Bailey Stephens (3rd, 145), Caroline Sturgill (3rd, 185), and Amoni Hutchinson (3rd, 235).


Belfry

Belfry earned podium finishes from Aaliyah Hackney (2nd, 100) and Ashlynn Cadwell (4th, 114), contributing key placements in the lighter weight classes.


Braxton County

Braxton County was represented by Shalen Moore, who finished second at 152 pounds after a strong run through the bracket.


Greenup County

Greenup County saw Violet Brown place third at 126 pounds, continuing the program’s growth in girls wrestling.


John I. Burton

John I. Burton was led by Ava Stough, who reached the championship bout and finished second at 120 pounds.


Madison Central

Madison Central crowned multiple champions, including Brielle Richardson (1st, 100), Narae Compton (1st, 138), and Sophie Butts (1st, 165). Additional podium finishes came from Esther Wernersbach (4th, 107), Makenzie Greer (4th, 132), and Madyson Simms (4th, 152).


McCreary Central

McCreary Central placed wrestlers across nearly every weight class, led by champions Natalie Duncan (1st, 145) and Bayleigh Thompson (1st, 185). The Raiders also earned podium finishes from Brooklyn Sammons (2nd, 107), Mazy Coffey (3rd, 107), Keyonna Perry (2nd, 114), Karma Taylor (4th, 120), Karissa Mesalam (4th, 126), Kylan Phillips (3rd, 138), Kaylee Upchurch (3rd, 152), Cali Dople (2nd, 165), Sundae-Grace Spradlin (4th, 165), and Kaylee Parriman (2nd, 235).


Perry County Central

Perry County Central was highlighted by Katie Smith, who captured the 126-pound championship. The Commodores also placed Serenity Cook (3rd, 114), Isabell Martinez (3rd, 132), Brianna Slone (2nd, 145), Myka Collins (4th, 138), and Addison Fletcher (2nd, 185).


Prestonsburg

Prestonsburg crowned a champion in Bralyn Maynard (1st, 152) and added podium finishes from Zoe Lay (3rd, 165) and Caroline Sturgill (3rd, 185).


Woodford County

Woodford County produced multiple champions, led by Genevieve Cox (1st, 107), Ana Tierney (1st, 114), Jacey Lyddane (1st, 120), and Mariya Reed (1st, 235). Additional placers included Bijou Brown (3rd, 100), London Mosley (2nd, 126), and Lyla Pitzer (2nd, 132).
