Bobcats Battle but Fall Short to Ironton in Pike County Classic

In the second game of the inaugural Pike County Classic, the Betsy Layne Bobcats hosted the visiting Ironton Tigers in what proved to be a tightly contested matchup from start to finish.

Betsy Layne opened the night with strong energy, jumping out to a 31–27 halftime lead thanks to sharp ball movement and efficient scoring. However, the Tigers responded in the second half, outscoring the Bobcats by eight points as they surged ahead late to secure a 64–59 victory on the road.

Senior guard Ethan Lance delivered a standout performance, leading the Bobcats with 18 points, earning him APSN’s Surplus Products Player of the Game honors. Junior Brayden Hall also played a pivotal role on the offensive end, contributing 17 points to keep Betsy Layne within striking distance throughout the contest.

Despite the loss, the Bobcats showed promise and resilience—encouraging signs as they continue preparing for the upcoming season.
