Shelby Valley Wildcats pull away from Mountain Mission

On the second night of the 2025–2026 season, the Shelby Valley Wildcats hosted the Mountain Mission Challengers. The Wildcats got off to a slow start in the first quarter before scoring the final five points to secure a 13–10 lead.

In the second quarter, the Wildcats heated up, pouring in 26 points and knocking down seven three-point baskets in the first half. Brady Johnson led the way at the break with 14 points, while Jonah Bartley added 12. Despite the Wildcats’ surge, the Challengers stayed within reach behind an impressive 18-point first-half performance from Elawi Dawit, sending the teams to halftime with Shelby Valley ahead 39–29.

Senior Caden Johnson came out hot in the third quarter, connecting on a pair of three-pointers to help extend the Wildcats’ lead to 61–45 going into the fourth.

Shelby Valley continued their strong shooting in the final period and pulled away to secure a 20-point victory, 82–62. Brady Johnson Came away with a game high 24 points to earn the Surplus Products Player of the Game Honors.
