Pike Central Lady Hawks Shine at Hoopalachia Tournament in Richlands, VA

The Pike Central Lady Hawks continued their strong early-season play with an impressive showing at the Hoopalachia Tournament in Richlands, Virginia. After opening with a dominant 53–17 win over Tazewell High School (VA) and a competitive 66–50 loss to Grundy (VA), the Lady Hawks looked to secure a winning record in tournament action as they squared off against Castlewood (VA).

Pike Central came out firing on all cylinders, taking control early and never looking back in a 53–30 victory.

Senior Larah Stanley delivered a standout performance, scoring 18 points on efficient shooting (5–9 inside the arc) while also going 5–8 from the free-throw line and knocking down one three-pointer. Stanley stuffed the stat sheet with 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and 4 assists, earning her the Surplus Products Player of the Game honors.

Joining her in double figures was Cydney Snodgrass, who posted a strong 14-point, 11-rebound double-double, helping secure the Lady Hawks’ second win of the season.
