Hawks Soar Past Webster County Behind Biliter’s 20-Point Night

The Pike Central Hawks continued their strong play at the Smoky Mountain Christmas Classic, edging the Webster County Trojans 52–49 in a tightly contested matchup that came down to the final possessions.

The game opened as a defensive battle, with Pike Central holding a slim 11–9 advantage after the first quarter. Momentum swung slightly in the second period as Webster County outscored the Hawks by one, sending Pike Central into halftime clinging to a narrow 26–25 lead.

The first half belonged to Bob Biliter, who was the offensive difference early. Biliter poured in 13 of the Hawks’ 26 first-half points, consistently finding scoring opportunities to keep his team in the lead.

The back-and-forth nature of the contest continued after the break. Biliter added seven more points in the third quarter as both teams traded baskets. In the final period, clutch free throws from Owen Bowman proved to be the difference, as the Hawks were able to fend off a late Trojan push and secure the 52–49 victory.

Biliter turned in his most complete performance of the season, finishing with 20 points on an efficient shooting night. He went 6-of-8 from the field, 2-of-4 from three-point range, and 2-of-2 at the free-throw line, while also pulling down four rebounds and recording one block. His effort earned him Surplus Products Player of the Game honors.
