On Saturday, the Betsy Layne Ladycats opened their home season by welcoming the West Carter Lady Comets to Junior Newsome Arena.
Betsy Layne made quick work of the Lady Comets, placing three players in double figures in a convincing 57–25 victory. The Ladycats were led by Jaden Pente, who scored 20 points and earned Surplus Products Player of the Game honors. Junior Madi Collins added 14 points, while senior Kinleigh Martin chipped in 12.
The win improves the Ladycats to 3–3 on the season.
Up next, Betsy Layne will compete in the Cavalier Christmas Tournament hosted by Jenkins High School, where they will face the Letcher Central Lady Cougars on Monday.
