Clipson Jones Wrestling Tournament – Boys

The Belfry wrestling team hosted its annual Clipson Jones High School Wrestling Tournament on Saturday, drawing 21 teams from across the state for a full day of competition. The event featured deep brackets, multiple ranked wrestlers, and strong performances throughout all weight classes.

Ashland Blazer (168.5 points)

Ashland Blazer was a force in the upper weights, earning championships from Nathaniel Williams (1st, 175) and Wyatt Riley (1st, 285). Additional podium finishes came from Branden McGee (2nd, 190), Jacob Hammonds (5th, 190), Cameron Burnside (3rd, 215), Taner Woodman (2nd, 150), Clarence McDade (3rd, 150), and Carter Stewart (5th, 144).

Belfry (110.5 points)

Belfry produced multiple placers across the lineup, led by Brantley Scott (3rd, 113) and James E. Jones (3rd, 190). Steven Vipperman (4th, 285) narrowly missed the podium, while additional scorers included Braxton Jarrell (8th, 126), Jayden Tilley (7th, 132), Kane Caudill (7th, 138), Trenton Williamson (6th, 144), Wesley Curry (7th, 150), Jaxson Baldwin (7th, 157), and Benjamin Crabtree (8th, 157).

Braxton County High School (207.0 points)

Braxton County finished second overall with championships from Colton Putnam (1st, 126), Sean Foster (1st, 132), Luke Kelley (1st, 138), and Paxton Smith (1st, 157). Additional contributors included Conner Tallamy (3rd, 120), Braydyn Morris (2nd, 144), Mason Smarr (4th, 150), Cameron Fleshman (8th, 175), and Joel Sigman (2nd, 285).

East Ridge (15.0 points)

East Ridge was led by Gavin Ratliff (5th, 106), while Greason Gooslin (8th, 113) added additional team points.

Floyd Central (34.0 points)

Floyd Central earned placements from Max Strong (4th, 165), Tyler Hall (6th, 150), and Ashton Maynard (7th, 175).

Greenup County (34.0 points)

Greenup County placers included Hunter Crabtree (4th, 120) and David Craig (8th, 138).

Hazard (10.0 points)

Hazard was represented by a limited lineup and finished with 10 team points.

John I. Burton (60.0 points)

John I. Burton’s top finisher was William Shepherd (2nd, 215). Additional placers included Cadence Lewis (4th, 106), Anthony Green (6th, 126), Nico Niece (7th, 144), and Derrick Jenkins (8th, 120).

Johnson Central (22.0 points)

Johnson Central earned points from Christian Piedad (6th, 113).

Knott County Central (26.0 points)

Knott County Central’s Ethan Collins (4th, 215) accounted for the team’s scoring.

Letcher County Central (48.0 points)

Letcher County Central placers included Andrew Meade (5th, 150), Jon Falter (4th, 157), Alexander Caudill (7th, 165), and Brady Baker (8th, 132).

Martin County (258.5 points)

Martin County captured the team title behind championships from Brody Jewell (1st, 106), Jeremy Mollett (1st, 113), Blake Lemaster (1st, 120), Cole Jewell (1st, 165), and Brayden Fannin (1st, 215). Mingo Central was led by Seth Boseman (5th, 165).

Paintsville (34.0 points)

Paintsville placers included Jace Hunter (5th, 157), Jaxon Borders (8th, 215), and Carter Lauffer (6th, 285).

Perry County Central (88.0 points)

Perry County Central earned points from Couper Woods (2nd, 106), Chris Richie (2nd, 113), Land on Baker (5th, 138), Brody Collins (6th, 138), and Tucker Smallwood (8th, 144).

Pike County Central (22.0 points)

Pike County Central’s top finisher was Paylin Meade (4th, 132).

Pikeville (52.0 points)

Pikeville’s highlight came from Cooper Scott (1st, 144). Additional scorers included Jaxon Scott (4th, 138) and Gabriel Farthing (6th, 165).

Prestonsburg (60.5 points)

Prestonsburg earned placements from Caden Ratliff (2nd, 175) and Brody Hicks (7th, 190).

Tug Valley (32.0 points)

Tug Valley placers included Rogan Moore (5th, 120), Eli Whitt (8th, 165), Gabriel Jarvis (5th, 175), and Braxton Jones (6th, 175).

Union (183.5 points)

Union finished third overall, led by Canaan Spears (1st, 150). Additional podium finishes came from Landon Fields (3rd, 175) and Ean Baker (3rd, 157). Other placers included Elijah Anderson (3rd, 126), Jaxon Anderson (3rd, 144), Deegan Tavernier (2nd, 165), Josh Guerrant (6th, 190), and Kaleb Stacy (7th, 285).

Woodford County (163.0 points)
