In A Team action, the Millard Mustangs faced off against the South Floyd Raiders and once again turned up the defensive intensity from the opening tip.
Millard set the tone early in the first quarter behind relentless pressure from Tyson Hess and crafty offensive scoring from Eli Mason. The Mustangs forced turnovers and capitalized in transition, building a 17–8 lead by the end of the opening period.
The Mustangs continued to roll in the second quarter against South Floyd’s zone defense. Crisp ball movement forced the Raiders to defend side-to-side, creating open looks and high-percentage shots. Millard’s defense remained the catalyst, holding South Floyd to just seven points in the quarter while pouring in 22 of their own to take a commanding 39–15 lead into halftime.
Lucas Howell led the Raiders in the first half with seven points. For Millard, Mason paced the scoring with 14 points at the break, while Brennan Wright added nine.
The Mustangs showed no letup in the second half, once again using pressure defense to control the tempo and generate easy baskets. Millard outscored South Floyd 12–4 after halftime to cruise to a decisive 51–19 victory.
Eli Mason led all scorers with 21 points and earned Hall and Jones Funeral Home Player of the Game honors.
