East Ridge Pulls Away Late to Top Buckhorn, 64–57

East Ridge used a dominant first quarter and a strong closing stretch to secure a 64–57 victory over Buckhorn on Thursday night at home.

The hosts set the tone early, racing out to a 20–5 lead after one quarter behind aggressive defense and efficient offense. Buckhorn answered in the second quarter, outscoring East Ridge 16–6 to cut the halftime margin to just one point at 20–21.

Momentum swung back and forth in the third quarter as both teams traded baskets, each scoring 18 points. That allowed East Ridge to hold a 44-39 lead entering the final period.

East Ridge delivered when it mattered most in the fourth quarter, pouring in 20 points while holding Buckhorn to 18. Key stops, rebounding, and clutch free-throw shooting allowed East Ridge to pull away in the closing minutes and seal the seven-point win.

The Warriors were led by Gavin Damron’s game-high 29 points, while McCoy added 14 and Ramey chipped in 12. Despite shooting 46 percent from the field and 41 percent from three, Buckhorn struggled to overcome East Ridge’s early burst and late execution.

East Ridge finished the night shooting efficiently and spreading contributions across the lineup, while controlling the glass and limiting second-chance opportunities down the stretch.
