In another 15th Region showdown, the Prestonsburg Lady Blackcats made the trip to the Hawks Nest to take on the Pike Central Lady Hawks, and Prestonsburg closed strong to earn a 53–42 road victory.
The Lady Blackcats jumped out to a quick start in the opening quarter, building a 13–5 lead behind six points from Jade Fitzpatrick and five from Allison Howard.
Pike Central responded in the second quarter, clawing back into the game by outscoring Prestonsburg 12–10. Kamryn Akers led the Lady Hawks with five points in the period and seven in the half, but Prestonsburg still held a 23–17 advantage at the break.
The Lady Hawks continued their push in the third quarter, cutting the Prestonsburg lead to just three points, 31–28, as the teams headed into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, Prestonsburg’s offense erupted. The Lady Blackcats poured in 22 points, sparked by three three-point baskets from Shay Music, to pull away and secure the 53–42 win.
Surplus Products Players of the Game honors went to:
- Allison Howard, who finished with 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists
- Jade Fitzpatrick, who led all scorers with 16 points and added 7 steals
