On Sunday, the Lady Blackcats faced another 11th Region opponent, Western Hills High School, on day two of the Central Bank Jim Rose Classic in Lexington. In another tightly contested matchup, the Lady Blackcats rallied from behind to earn a hard-fought 61–57 victory.
Western Hills jumped out to a fast start in the first quarter, taking a 21–15 lead. Shay Music knocked down two three-pointers to keep the Lady Blackcats within striking distance early.
In the second quarter, the Lady Blackcats turned up the defensive pressure, limiting the Lady Wolverines to just nine points. That effort helped cut the deficit to two at halftime, with Western Hills holding a slim 30–28 advantage.
The two teams traded baskets throughout the third quarter. Although Western Hills edged the period 18–16, the Lady Blackcats stayed close thanks to Jade Fitzpatrick, who scored 11 points in the quarter.
Trailing heading into the final period, the Lady Blackcats showed poise down the stretch. Clutch free-throw shooting proved to be the difference, as Allison Howard went 9-of-12 from the line in the fourth quarter. The comeback was completed as the Lady Blackcats closed out the game for a 61–57 win.
Jade Fitzpatrick once again led the Lady Blackcats in scoring and earned Surplus Products Player of the Game honors for the second consecutive game.
