Martin off to a quick start for Betsy Layne

Despite dropping their season opener to 14th Region front-runner Breathitt County, Betsy Layne’s Kinleigh Martin picked up right where she left off last season. Now a senior, Martin closed her junior campaign on a tear, averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds during the month of February.

Her senior debut showed that nothing has changed. Martin finished Tuesday’s game with 21 points and 8 rebounds, once again proving she’s one of the most reliable two-way players in the region.

The offseason has been just as busy for Martin, who has earned multiple collegiate offers from Alice Lloyd College, Kentucky Christian University, Midway University, and Spalding University. On thing is for certain, if she continues producing performances like her season opener, it’s safe to say more offers are sure to follow.
