The Belfry Pirates made the trip to the Reservation on Friday night and delivered a dominant performance, rolling past the East Ridge Warriors 86–53 in a battle of 15th Region rivals.
Belfry wasted no time setting the tone, jumping out to a commanding 23–10 lead by the end of the first quarter. Pirate guard Brody Little led the early charge, scoring nine points in the opening period to ignite the Belfry offense.
The Pirates continued to control the game in the second quarter as Little added six more points to finish the half with 15. Belfry’s pressure defense and efficient scoring proved too much for East Ridge, allowing the Pirates to extend their advantage to 44–26 heading into the locker room.
East Ridge showed fight in the second half, trimming the deficit to 16 points behind a strong offensive effort from senior Gavin Damron. Damron finished with a team-high 18 points to lead the Warriors and spark their comeback attempt.
However, Belfry quickly regained control with a balanced scoring attack and relentless defensive pressure. Point guard Carter Jude led four Pirate players in double figures, finishing with 18 points. Jude connected on three three-point baskets and ran the Belfry fast break to perfection throughout the night. In the end, Belfry’s defensive pressure and depth wore down East Ridge as the game progressed, and the Pirates pulled away in the final minutes to secure a convincing 86–53 victory.
